Bernard P. “Bernie” Fabian, 91, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John F. Sr. and Malvina “Millie” (Zablotny) Fabian.
Bernie married Beverly A. Kuhn on Aug. 12, 1972, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She died on April 22, 2015.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (Erik Viker) Fabian of Selinsgrove; two sons, Paul (Stephanie) Fabian and Ronald Fabian, both of Altoona; three grandchildren: Beth, Andrew and Nathan; and a brother, Jack.
Bernie was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School, and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Penn State.
Bernard taught English, Civics and Economics for Tyrone and Bald Eagle School Districts. He retired from Altoona Area School District to start his own business with Duraclean.
He loved music and was a member of the popular regional polka band, The Hallmarks.
Bernard attended the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
At the request of the family, all services will be private.
Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
Interment at Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
