Braden D. Galant

September 16, 1992 — May 18, 2024

Braden Durea Galant, 31, lost his battle to choose life and passed away Saturday following years of battle with addiction. He wouldn't want anyone to be sad. He would want them to know that he finally has found peace and to remember him with health and happiness.
Braden was born in Lompoc, Calif., the son of Cherené Benjamin and the late S. Scott Galant.
He was preceded in death by his father, S. Scott Galant; his grandmother, Nancy Lytle; his grandfather's, Daniel Benjamin and Stanley Galant; and his best childhood friend, Mary.
He is survived by his mother, Cherene; two brothers, Thomas (Brooke) Benjamin and Quynten Castellanos; a daughter, Oakley Jo Koeck; (Oakley's mother, Casey Koeck); grandmother, Susan Galant; Uncle Shawn Benjamin; Aunt Sunnie Benjamin; Aunt Sandy Trotter (Stewart); cousins: Seth and Breanna Benjamin and Madeline Kendrick, Cera Montgomery, Jace-Dean Coleman and Madison and Olivia Trotter; nieces and nephews: Chase, Mason, Logan, Cadence and Easton Benjamin, Aurora Castellanos and Genesis Mathieu; his best friend, Adrian McBride; and too many "Friends of Bill" to list; as well as two close friends, Mike Dantos and Michelle Langenbacher.
Braden was a fun-loving man with an infectious smile who loved his family and friends more than anything, all the while struggling to love himself. His life was a rollercoaster of battling different addictions, thrill seeking, body-building and just spending time with his family and friends, especially watching the Pittsburgh Steelers games with his pap and later his grandma. He often found peace doing landscaping work.
Braden was an active member of the Trans4mation Church.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, with services at 6 p.m. by Pastor Troy Ferguson. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
