CATHERINE A. KLISIEWICZ

Catherine A. Klisiewicz, 90, Altoona, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter in Juniata.

She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Stanley and Caroline (Zagata) Bem. She married John F. Klisiewicz on July 27, 1946, in Gallitzin, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters: Sister Jeanne Marie Klisiewicz and Bonnie Bartley, both of Altoona; two sons: Robert J. and wife, Mary "Chip," of Hollidaysburg and John J. of Altoona; four grandsons: Stephen Klisiewicz, Thomas Bartley, Robert Bartley and Brian Bartley; a sister, Eleanor Fischer of Altoona; a brother, Edward Bem of Gallitzin; a caregiver, Diane Gomes, and caregiver and niece, Carol Werkmeister.

She was preceded in death by nine siblings: Theresa, Walter, Bernard, Edna Message, Joseph Bem, Tillie Gaida, Felix Bem, Mary Adams and Dorothy Stock.

Catherine was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
