Catherine R. “Sissy” McCulloch, 88, of Altoona, passed away peacefully Friday evening surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Chester R. and Pauline K. (Grzegorzewski) Hooper.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (David) Fischer; two sons, Walter (Joliene) McCulloch and David (Christine) McCulloch; grandchildren: Christopher (Katerina) Fischer, Nicholas Fischer, Sarah McCulloch, Aaron McCulloch and Jared McCulloch.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gregory J. “Bud” Hooper and Chester W. Hooper.
Sissy was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired in 2013 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altoona after 40 years as the church secretary.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Polish National Catholic Church, Lilly.
Sissy was the branch president for LCBA in Altoona. She enjoyed crocheting.
Her family was her life and she was especially proud of her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Polish National Catholic Church, 136 Hilltop Rd., Lilly. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Scott Lill, at the church.
Committal will be made at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
