Charlotte B. Kauffman

Charlotte B. Kauffman, 83, of Altoona, passed away Sunday evening at her residence surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles E. and Betty (Langer) Shoeman. Surviving are five daughters: Barbara (Jeff) Stimer, Dawn (Mike Ball) Kauffman, Susan (Mark) Kenner, Sandy (Joe) Bettwy and Laurie Kauffman; grandchildren: Joseph (Gretchen) Bettwy, Mark Kauffman, Brian (Dana) Bettwy, Matthew (Britney) Ball, Nichole (Nick) Neidermayer, and Amanda (Steve) Cokrlic; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Longneckner; and four brothers: Walter Shoeman, Charles Shoeman Jr., Terry Shoeman and John Shoeman. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald E. Kauffman; son, John Kauffman; sisters, Ruth Ann Davis and Bertha Rupert; and a brother, Timothy Shoeman. Charlotte was of Brethren faith. She was a seamstress for Bon Secour Holy Family Hospital.

Charlotte enjoyed fishing, sewing, bingo, and time with her family.

Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. by Anthony Conrad.

Private interment at Diehl’s Crossroads Cemetery, 2631 Henrietta Rd., Martinsburg.
