Eric S. Shields

Eric S. Shields, 57, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his family. Eric was born in Altoona, the son of Evelyn (Wilson) Shields and the late John S. Shields.

Surviving are his mother, Evelyn; and two sisters, Esther L. (Lee) Packard and Janelle M. (Michael) Colyer; and two nephews, Jeremy Ehrhart and Michael Colyer.

Eric received a BS in Communication. He was a night auditor at Comfort Suites in Altoona, and was also employed as a writer for the Morrison Cove Herald.

Eric was an author of books and involved in the Claysburg Theater and Toast Master Club.

Friends will be received from 4 until the celebration of life service at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.

Inurnment at Grandview Cemetery.
