Floryan Joseph “Jake” Adamczyk, 92, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday afternoon at UPMC Altoona. Jake was born in Coupon, the son of the late Joseph J. and Sophie (Boychew) Adamczyk.
Surviving are his son, Joseph Floryan Heathcote of Catonville, Md.; nieces, Paula and Lisa; and his friend and caregiver, Gloria Kolonich of Hollidaysburg.
Jake was preceded in death by two sisters, Lovey Adamczyk and Joanna Tetanich.
He was a graduate of Altoona High School class of 1953, and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Jake was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Hollidaysburg, the Bavarian Aid Society, St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood and Duncansville VFW.
He was a laborer for Frankstown Township. Jake was also a personal weightlifting trainer at health clubs that he owned and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 312 Clark St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Alan Thomas.
Private committal at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
