Frances D. Kasun, 80, Altoona, died Tuesday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Bons Secours Hospital Campus. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Mary (Jandora) Tsamoutales. She married John G. Kasun Jan. 29, 1955, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Altoona. Surviving are her husband: five sons: Stephen (Robyn) Kasun and their children, Erica and Kevin of Altoona, Thomas (Michele) Kasun and their children, Meghan, Ryan, Erhin and Catherine of Murrysville, John Jr. (Kathy) Kasun and their children, Adam and Alexis of Altoona, Michael (Karen) Kasun and daughter, Mariah, of Pittsburgh, Robert J. (Joann) Kasun and their children, Benjamin, Rebecca and Emily of Altoona; a great-granddaughter, Rylie Keagy; and a sister, Irene Kyle of Hershey. She was predeceased by her brothers: Nick Tsamoutales and Ben Misko. She was an accounting assistant for the Altoona Housing Authority and previously worked for Morrison Cove Dairy. Frances enjoyed cooking and making baklava and playing cards and Yahtzee. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to many. She was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1946. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 12th Avenue and 20th Street, Altoona, by Father James D. Zatalava. Committal at SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Frances' memory.
