Gerald "Jerry" L. Parson

Gerald L. "Jerry" Parson, 86, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ebert and Sara Jane (Long) Parson.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 64 years, Judith; three children: Amber (Steve) Thomas, Dana (Demetrios) Liadis and Eric (Cynthia) Parson; four grandchildren: Amelia, Rain, Oliver Sky and Aidan; and two sisters, Lois (Terry) Strobaugh and Joyce Clark. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, George “Punk,” Don and Phil. 

Jerry was a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School and proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. 

Jerry wished to be remembered as he lived.

At his request, there will be no visitation or service.
