Jane L. Koury

Jane L Koury, 97, died Tuesday evening at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home of natural causes. She was born on August 1,1928 in Oil City PA the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Neidel) Grant. Jane married George Koury in Dec.1954. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30,1979.Survived by her 2 sons, John Koury of Altoona, and Randy (Jeanie) Koury of Altoona. Grandchildren: Sammy Koury of Fort Worth Texas, Alex Koury and his wife Genevieve Mollitor and their daughter Azra of Syracuse NY. Grace Koury and her fiancé Robert Gerold of Lewiston, Maine. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Lillian, John G. and Joann. Jane graduated from Altoona High School in 1946. She graduated from Penn State with a degree in chemistry in 1950. In 1968 she started teaching science at Roosevelt Jr. High. During her 25 years of teaching, she also earned her Masters equivalency in nutrition education at Penn State. Jane loved her 3 grandchildren and great grandchild Azra. She enjoyed skiing, golf, running and gardening. Jane enjoyed competitive racing.At her request there will be no public services.
