JERRY EDWARD KUHNS

Jerry Edward Kuhns, 70, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday evening at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center.
Jerry was born in Derry, the son of the late Ollie Wade Sr. and the late Dolores (Roddy) Kuhns.
He is survived by two sons: Shawn Edward Kuhns and Jerry E. Kuhns, a sister, Janet Makinen, and a brother, Ollie Kuhns, a granddaughter, Laighla Joy Wisor and a grandson, Jack Andrew Kuhns.
He is also survived by his long-time companion Ann Marie Turchetta, and his former wife, Wanda Denise Norris.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David.
Jerry was a 1966 graduate of Altoona High School.
He was a police officer, employed by Altoona Hospital and then by Swisher Cleaning Co. as a janitorial technician. He served as a sergeant in the Vietnam war, and was awarded the bronze star.
Jerry was avid Steeler fan and local baseball fan and member of James L. Noble VFW post No. 3.
Family will receive friends on Sunday Dec.1, 2019 from 1 till 3 p.m. at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc. 1204 - 17th Street Altoona, Pa.
Inurnment will be held at Indiantown Gap, Anville, Pa.
