JOANNE L. BAYER

Joanne L. Bayer, 81, Altoona, died Wednesday afternoon at Altoona Regional.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William L. and Dorothy Iola (Templeton) Dale. She married Ned F. Bayer on Feb. 2, 1950, in Cumberland, Md.

Surviving are her husband and three children: Allan Lee and wife, Peggy, and their son, Nicholas, Susan L. Siry and husband, Skip, and their children, Jeremy L. Steiner, Ashley E. Miller and Summer, and Jennifer L. Wills and husband, Eric, and their children, Hannah and Emma. All are of Altoona. She is also survived by a brother, John Dale and wife, Winnie, of Bellwood.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert and Frank Dale; and a sister, Martha Dale.

Joanne was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, camping and especially watching her grandchildren.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Family will gather at 6 p.m. today, May 31, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood Hall, second floor, 1901 16th Ave., Altoona, for a celebration of Joanne’s life. Pastor Ben Hoover will hold a service at 7 p.m.
