JOHN H. KURTZ III

John H. Kurtz, III, 84, Bellwood, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at the Lutheran Home of Hollidaysburg. 

He was born in Bellwood, son of the late John H. Jr. and Eva Agnes (Briggs) Kurtz. On Oct. 20, 1956, John married Phyllis M. Johnson in Somerset. 

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; three sons: Timothy (Donna), Thomas (Jody) and Jeffrey (Julie); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elsie Dingeldein and Evelyn Dingeldein. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Imgrund; and two sisters, Mary Lockoff and Eleanor Saylor. 

John was a labor relations manager at Conrail until his retirement in 1996. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc. 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday.    Private inurnment will be at Logan Valley, Bellwood.
