June T. Thompson, 95, Adrian, Mich., passed away Tuesday at Lenawee Medical Care Facility, Adrian, Mich.
She was born in Indiana, Pa., daughter of Frederick and Frances (Miller) Eichenlaub. On Feb. 19, 1949, she married Walter Thompson in Altoona, and together they shared 35 years of marriage before his passing on April 28, 1984.
Surviving are children: Naomi (Stanley) Butler Jr., Robert (Barb Adams) Thompson and Karissa (Trevor) Thompson, all of Adrian, Mich.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Jane (John) Mays of Altoona; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Dorothy and Shayna Thompson; a grandson, Stanley "Chip" Butler; and a brother, Robert Eichenlaub.
She worked on the railroad scrubbing engines during WWII. She was active in Mothers of WWII and a past-state president.
June always treasured the time she spent with her family and created wonderful memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park.
Memorial contributions in June's honor may be made to Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
