Kenneth R. Luke Jr., 80, of Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by his family. Ken was born in Altoona, the son of the late Kenneth R. Luke Sr. and the late Mildred (Specth) Luke. He married his wife, Diane R. Gebhardt, on Apr. 18, 1964 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
Surviving are: his wife, Diane; one son, Michael P. (Sherree) Luke; one daughter, Dana L. (Danny) Feathers; a granddaughter, Caitlyn R Feathers; and a brother-in-law, John H. (Patricia) Gebhardt. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet L. Bickel and Bonnie M Baugley.
Ken was an Equipment Repair Specialist for the Eastman Kodak Company and retired after 25 years of service. He served in the Navy from 1961 to 1966, during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Altoona Area High School, Class of 1960. He was a member of the Park Hills Country Club, and a former member of the Sinking Valley and Scotch Valley Golf Courses.
Ken was an avid golfer all his life. He enjoyed camping and boating at Raystown Lake and vacations at Hilton Head with his family. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, children, and granddaughter.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday Apr. 5, 2023. A funeral service outside of mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday Apr. 5, 2023, at the Stanley J Krish Funeral Home Inc. 1204 17th Street, Altoona, Pa. by Monsignor Stanley Carson. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to the Central Pa Humane Society, 1837 East Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA. 16602.
