M. Denise Keagy

M. Denise Keagy 52, of Altoona, died Friday morning at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of Bernie and Janet (Winters) Shea. She married Gary W. Keagy on March 13, 1976 in Winchester, Virginia. Survived by her husband: Gary ; a daughter: Kaylee E., three sons: Gary W. Jr. and Fiance Erica Kasun, Christopher M. & his wife Kelly, Jeremiah M. and his girlfriend Cassie Dodson, a granddaughter, Rylie E.; a grandson, Carter M: all of Altoona, also her parents of Altoona. Two sisters: Ruth Dittsworth and Teresa Shearer both of Altoona and three brothers: Bernie Shea of Greencastle, NC, Pat Shea, and Danny Shea both of Altoona. Predeceased by her brother, Matthew. Denise was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she did custodial and housekeeping for church and rectory. She was a 1975 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, where she also did volunteering at High School, and she also enjoyed helping others. She enjoyed the Lady Marauders Basketball games. Denise enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. Friends may be received on Sunday from 2 to 8 pm and Monday morning from 9;30 am till 10:00 am at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc., 1204 - 17th Street, Altoona, where a Vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday evening at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Monday, February 1, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 12th Ave & 20th St., Altoona, by Father James D. Zatalava. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, In Lieu of flowers kindly make contributions for masses in Denise memory or to the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
