Margaret A. "Peggy" Curran, 82, of Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at UPMC Altoona. Peggy was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas and Esther R. (Gates) Conrad.
Surviving is a daughter, Tara (Bernie) Steinbugl; two sisters, Lorraine Conrad and Pauline Conrad; a brother, Frederick J.; stepchildren: George (Diane) Curran, Linda (Earle) Marino and Diane Curran; 9 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandson Jackie Shields, her brothers, Thomas R. and George P.; and her former husband, George F. Curran.
Peggy was a graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a business manager, employed by Parent Child Press.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Christian Mothers at the church.
Peggy was an avid reader. She enjoyed crocheting and going to watch the Altoona Curve.
Friends will be received from 10:15 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2700 Broad Ave., Altoona, with Father James Dugan. Private inurnment will take place at Blair Memorial Park, Altoona.
Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
