Mary Louise Gibbons, 69, Altoona, passed away Friday evening at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Irvin (Bud) and Betty F. (Beals) O'Connor. On April 17, 1971, she married Stephen R. Gibbons in Altoona. This past April, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Surviving are her husband, Stephen; two daughters, Jennifer J. (Ernie) Hewitt and Stephanie (special friend, Patrick) Gibbons; two sons, Jon J. (Kathleen) Gibbons and Mathew Gibbons (special friend, Lacey); 15 grandchildren: Jon Jr., Rebecca, Hunter, Cayden, Briar, Brayden, Kathleen, Cameron, Kayla, Sophia, Connor, Colin, Cooper, Colton, Kaleb Iverson and special friend's children, Zack Hanna and Isabelle Hanna; three sisters: Nancy (Charles) Smith, Sheri Danella and Betsy (Thomas) Miller; and members of her extended family, Rachael and Angela Gibbons.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey O'Connor.
Mary was a sales associate at Gables Department Store, Wal-Mart and the Dollar Tree.
She enjoyed camping and shopping with her sisters, but mostly her grandchildren whose many activities she rarely missed.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Father D. Timothy Grimme and Pastor Tyler Pepper co-officiating. The family prefers that masks are worn for the visitation.
Private interment will be held at Blair Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Reapers Food Ministry at First Baptist Church, 1209 17th St. Altoona, PA 16601.
