Mary Gertrude Mauk, 94, of 241 Commissioners Rd., Mullica Hill, NJ, formerly of 2028 – 11thAve. Altoona, PA passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family.
Gertie was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Theodore John and Elizabeth Philomena (Weis) Young. Her husband, Harry B. Mauk Sr., whom she married on August 26, 1939 at Winchester, Va., he preceded her in death on August 12, 1990.
Survived by one daughter: Donna Jean Otto and husband Arthur of Mullica Hill, NJ, one son: Harry Burket Mauk Jr. and wife Bonnie of Mickleton, NJ,
Granddaughters, Anna Mary Otto; Lisa Cochran, Grandsons, H. Donald Otto; Paul Mellott Jr.; Scott Mauk; Douglas Mauk, Seven Great Grandchildren. and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Faye Mellott, and her siblings, Henry Young, Margaret Coble, Charles, John, Paul, and Helen.
She was a Laborer and Supervisor, employed by Altoona Shoe Factory, Mary Joy Dress Factory and Boyer Brothers Candy Factory where she retired in 1986.
Gertie enjoyed Sewing, Crocheting, Knitting and Crafts.
Mrs. Mauk was a Life member of the Bavarian Aid Society.
Friends received 10 am to 11 am the Memorial services on Wednesday, September 7th at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc. by Anthony Conrad, Chaplain at UPMC.
Inurnment at Blair Memorial Park, Altoona.
