Mary L. Servello, 95, Logan Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg surrounded by her family.
She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late Chester and Edna Irene (Ullery) Markley. She married James J. Servello on Nov. 3, 1936, in Cumberland, Md., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2007.
Surviving are three daughters: Patricia (Pete) Burkholder and Judy (Tom) Clendenin, both of Altoona, and Nancy (Arnold Jr.) Hoover of Grove City, Ohio; seven sons: James J. Jr. (Nancy) of Duncansville, Jack R. (Sandy), Kenneth (Susan) and David (Polly), all of Altoona, Timothy (Brenda) of Duncansville, Ronald (fiancée Diane) of Port Matilda and Lawrence (Kelli) of Altoona; a son-in-law, Ken Benton of Everett; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James J.; a daughter, Susan “Sue” Benton; and a grandson, Julian Tyler Servello.
Mary was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a lifelong devout Christian and loved the Lord and her family very much. She enjoyed traveling with and being with her family.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, by Pastor Kathy Colebank. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
