Mary E. Wilt

Mary E. Wilt, 80, Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Hospital Campus. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Frank and Esther (Lyman) Sigrist. She married Leroy F. Wilt Sr. at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in 1952. He died Jan. 12, 2000. Surviving are two daughters: Kathryn (Ronald) Hann of Altoona and Maryann Wilt, with whom she resided; two sons: Thomas E. and Ed F. (Connie), both of Altoona; a daughter-in-law, Tracy; four grandchildren: Cory, Krystle (Thomas) Fagan, Jannell and Alicia; nine great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Tori, Andrew, Mariah, Tristen, Amia, Jada, Liam and Bailey; a nephew, Harry Stine; and a sister, Hilda Marie Sigrist of Altoona. She was preceded in death by a son, Leroy F. Jr.; a grandson, Stephen A.; a sister, Dorothy Marie Stine; and a nephew, John Stine. Mrs. Wilt was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. She was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School. She did housekeeping for Dr. Oliver Mattas. Mrs. Wilt was an avid reader, and she loved her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona (www.krishfuneralhhome.com), where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Fourth Street and Wopsononock Avenue, Altoona, by Father Timothy Grimme. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
