Mildred P. Poet-Gardner

April 30, 1913 — January 12, 2010

Mrs. Gardner age 96, of Bellmeade Manor formerly of 1618 Pennbrook Ave. Altoona, died Tuesday evening at her residence. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Ira Nathaniel and Sara Susan (Kiser) Lytle. She was 1st married Lavelle Poet in Cumberland Md. On July 28, 1930 He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1978. Then she married Robert Gardner in Altoona on December 6, 1982. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1992. Survived by one daughter: Sandra Lee Servello and husband Jack of Altoona, one son: Richard David Wahl of Altoona. 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren. One brother: Nathaniel Ira "Jack" Lytle of Altoona, Predeceased in death by her siblings, Marie Metzgar, Clarence Lytle, Mary Lytle, Elmer Lytle, Irene Runk, Bill Lytle, and Violet Daughenbaugh. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church and Faith Joy Sunday School; she was a seamstress for Tritex prior to that she worked at Cassidy Candy as a candy dipper. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and her family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc.1204 - 17th St. and from 1 pm Monday till time of service at the First Baptist Church on Monday January 18, 2010 where a funeral will be held at 2 pm by Pastor Tyler Pepper officiating. Committal will be held at Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of Flowers kindly make donations to the Bellemeade Manor % Activies 1929 E.
