Otto Frank Bumberger age 76, of Altoona, died Thursday afternoon December 24, 2009 at Golden Living Center-Hillview after an extended illness. Born in Altoona, the son of the late John N. and Amelia (Christlmeier) Bumberger He married Margaret L.'Peg' Frederick on August 9, 1952. Survived by his wife, one son: Otto Dale Bumberger and wife Darla three daughters: Susan C. Gorsuch and husband Ronald,Judy A.Mainhart and husband Dennis, Kathy Bumberger and daughter-in-law, Marty Bumberger who was married to the late David Bumberger; 6 grandchildren: 6 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; One sister, Therese and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son David who died Jan. 18, 2000 and a grandson, Ronald L. Gorsuch Jr. who died March 17, 2008. Otto was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was a monument designer, engraver and setter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, time with his family and friends. He played guitar and liked music, especially bluegrass. At the request of the deceased there was no viewing. A private service and interment was held at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery.
