Paul J. Wojcik, 66, Fleming Island, Fla., formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Louis and Teresa (Kinney) Wojcik. On July 1, 1972, he married Karen F.M. Krish at S.S. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Altoona.
Survived by his wife; three sons: Dr. Andy (Cathy) of Keswick, Va., George of Newport News, Va. and Tim (Bonnie) of Yorktown, Va.; three grandchildren: Zachary, Sarah and Melissa; five sisters: Sister Sara Marie Wojcik (Sisters of Charity) of Greensburg, Patricia (John) Longenecker of Duncansville, Susan (James) Irvin of Concord, N.C., Anne (Ric) Mars of Bethel Park and Dr. Teresa (John F.) Fraundorfer, Altoona; and three brothers: Robert (Sheila) Wojcik, Michael and John, all of Altoona.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era, and he retired from civilian work with the Department of the Navy from Fleet Readiness Center South East.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fleming Island, Fla., Disabled American Veterans and the Knights of Columbus. He served as Past Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator.
He enjoyed visiting with family, cooking, gardening, going to Disney World, the beach and watching rocket launches off the Space Coast of Florida.
Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a vigil will be held during visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Monsignor Robert Mazur celebrant. Committal will be at S.S. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
