Phyllis J. Kosut

August 4, 1936 — April 25, 2026

Phyllis J. Kosut 89, of Reston, VA, formerly of Hollidaysburg and Altoona passed away Saturday afternoon at Tall Oakes Assisted Living, Reston, VA. Phyllis was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Chalmer E. and Winifred (Heath) Trotter. She married Edward G. Kosut on October 9, 1967, at St. Therese Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2006. Survived by one daughter: Kathleen L and husband Andrew Greger of Oak Hill, VA, one son: Timothy of Henderson, NV. Granddaughters: Amanda Greger and Abby Greger; A sister-in-law, Betty Trotter and 2 nephews and 2 nieces Preceded in death by her brother: Stewart Trotter. Phyllis was a former member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. She was a Teacher’s Aide for Altoona School District. Phyllis was a member of Altoona High School Alumni, PSAR and volunteering at Bon Secour Hospital and then UPMC for 15 years. Friends receive Monday May 18, 2026 from 4-6 pm at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc. 1204 17th Street Altoona and where a funeral service outside of mass will be held Tuesday May 19 2026 at 10:30 am. by Monsignor Stanley J. Carson. Committal Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In Lieu of Flowers make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
