Raymond J. Stoehr

March 3, 1927 — September 14, 2009

Senior Master Chief, Raymond J. Stoehr, 82, of Homewood at Martinsburg the son of Raymond and Louisa (Kuny) Stoehr, ended his earthly voyage surrounded by his family on Monday evening. He now begins his heavenly travels into the loving arms of the Lord were the seas are always tranquil. He will be greeted in Paradise by his loving wife of 55 years Dorothy Frederick and beloved Granddaughter Amy Zeak and they will sail the heavenly seas together. Raymond was a devoted husband and father; and a guiding influence to all who knew him. Surviving Ray are his daughter Patricia Faust and Husband Richard, Sandra Zeak and husband Stephen; and a son Raymond G. Stoehr and wife Karen. He has four grandsons, Christopher Faust and wife Jennifer, Dustin Faust, Connor and Patrick Stoehr. He has a Great Granddaughter Morgan Faust. His Career in the United Sates Navy spanned over World War II, and Korean War, he worked for Boyer Candy Company, Altoona City Water Authority, was a Pennsylvania State Employee and Factory Mutual Engineering. His Hobbies included Golf, Hunting, Camping and his passion for fishing. He was always teaching life lesions with a quick wit and a salty no-nonsense delivery. He was a member of the James L. Noble Post VFW, Unter Uns, Frankstown Sportsman's Club and Bavarian Aid Singing Society. Anchors Away Dad, Anchors Away. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday September 18, 2009 at the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc. 1204 - 17th St. Altoona, Pa. 16601 with service at 8 pm by Rev Gerald McCuller Jr. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the Staff of Homewood Countryside for the quality care of their father and the Blair County Home Nursing Hospice of Roaring Spring.
