Robert J. "Bob" Wojcik, 70, Altoona, passed away Thursday at Hillview Chateau, Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Louis and Teresa M. (Kinney) Wojcik. On July 24, 1976, Bob married Sheila A. Hughes at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila: two sons: Craig Wojcik and Stevie Beasom, both of Altoona; a daughter, Bobbi Beasom and husband, Mark, and a granddaughter, Indie, all of Boise, Idaho; five sisters: Sister Sara Marie Wojcik, R.S.C. of Greensburg, Patricia (John) Longenecker of Duncansville, Susan (James) Irvin of Concord, N.C., Anne (Ric) Mars of Bethel Park and Teresa (John F.) Fraundorfer of Altoona; two brothers: Michael and John, both of Altoona; father-in- law, Harry Thompson of Duncansville; sister-in- law, Karen of Fleming Island, Fl.; brothers-in-law: Chester Hughes, Tom Hughes and Steve Hughes all of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his son, Jay James; and a brother, Paul J.
Bob was a Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and received a Purple Heart.
He was a machinist, employed by Norfolk Southern. He was a former member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
Bob enjoyed golfing with his friends and spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona. Committal will be at Alto-Reste Burial Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations may be sent to Sisters of Charity, 144 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
