Sara Jane Quinlan 101, of Altoona, died Wednesday at Graystone Manor at Bellmeade. She was born in Coupon, daughter of the late William J. and Ellen C. (Delozier) Lumadue.
She married Bernard P. Quinlan on June 24, 1941, at The Cathedral of The Blessed Sacrament. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1992.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her children, Mike and Mary Quinlan; siblings: Anna Hoover, Elizabeth Greinader, Marjorie Hoffman, Hellen Douglass, Regina McGill, Edith Ball, Charles, William, Arthur, Regis, Peter and Robert.
Sara attended Altoona High School and retired from St. Leo's School as the Cafeteria Manager. She previously worked as a salesclerk for W.T. Grants.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, (Formerly St. Leo The Great Catholic Church) and Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Blair Senior Citizens, Last Charter Member of Ladies Auxiliary of Newburg Fire Hall.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a Funeral Service Outside of Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. by Monsignor Stanley Carson. Committal at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
