SUSAN E. BURKEY

Susan E. Burkey, 71, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert S. and Margaret R. (Bushby) Burkey.

Surviving are two sisters, Kathleen Pulcine and Margaret "Peggy" (Jim) Cavalet; a brother: Robert D. (Pennie) Burkey; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Dively. 

Susan was a licensed practical nurse, employed by Altoona Hospital for more than 40 years. 

She was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School. 

Ms. Burkey was a member of The Cathedral of The Blessed Sacrament. She was devoted to her Catholic faith. 

Family and friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17^th St., Altoona.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at The Cathedral of The Blessed Sacrament, 1 Cathedral Square Altoona, with Monsignor Stanley Carson officiating. 

Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
