Sylvia J. Quirin

Sylvia J. Quirin,  85, of Altoona, passed away Monday morning, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Theodore and Irene (Lytle) Berry.

On Feb. 26, 1955, she married the love of her life, Charles E. Quirin Sr., in Altoona. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2017, after 62 years together.  

Surviving are a daughter, Ruth (Craig) Westover; three sons: Charles E. Quirin Jr. and his partner, Tom; Theodore Quirin; and Bruce (Sherry) Quirin; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; her stepmother, Sis Berry; and stepbrother, Tim Berry. Sylvia was the last of her family. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Marie Quirin, on April 3, 2016; and a grandson, John Ponish Jr. 

Sylvia was a caregiver at Skills of Central Pennsylvania Inc. for 45 years.

Sylvia will be greatly missed by all who loved her, especially her family. 

Family and friends will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17^th St., Altoona. Inurnment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
