Thelma E. (Biddle) Seilhamer, age 90, of Altoona, died Sunday evening at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Carl and Cora (Blackie) Biddle.
She married Russell W. Seilhamer who preceded her in death.
Even with the hardship of having Polio, she raised four children. Thelma is survived by two sons, Larry Seilhamer of Oviedo, Fla. and Jeff Seilhamer and wife, Deborah, of Altoona; two daughters, Linda K. Shaffer and Joy Cover of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; 16 great – grandchildren; and two sisters, Margie Bartow and Nancy Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Hazel, Alberta, Wayne, Francis and James; and a son-in-law, Bubba Shaffer.
Thelma was a member of First Church of Christ, Altoona. She was a homemaker.
Thelma's enjoyment was being with her dogs. She also enjoyed cooking, and loved being with her family. She had a million-dollar smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held later. Inurnment will take place at Blair Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Jaffa Shriners, 2200 Broad Ave., Altoona PA 16601.
