THELMA C. 'TOOTIE' YOHN

Thelma C. 'Tootie' Yohn, 81, Kimberly, Wis., formerly of Altoona, died Friday morning in Appleton, Wis. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Anthony J. and Katherine (Mangus) Smith. She married Ralph R. Yohn Sr. on Sept. 27, 1951, in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1995. Surviving are two daughters: Karen J. Shannon and fiancé, Terry Geurts, of Appleton, Wis., and Diane D. Boore and husband, Charles, of Canoe Creek; a son, Ralph R. Jr. and wife, Cheryl, of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and four sisters: Bernice Yohn and Evelyn Reilly, both of Altoona, Shirley Thompson in Ohio and Ruth Gensamer of Bellwood. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beverly K. Yohn; a brother, George; and two sisters: Irene Rahm and Rose Marie Cline. Thelma was a former member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. She enjoyed her grandkids, bingo and doing crafts. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, One Cathedral Square, Altoona. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to the American Heart Association.
