Wilmer A. Adams

Mr. Adams age 81, of Presbyterian Home of Hollidaysburg formerly of 1231 - 18th Ave. Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at Altoona Regional Health System Altoona Hosp Campus after a brief illness. Born in Greenwood, Altoona, he was the son of the late George H. and Iva L. (Brannen) Adams. He married Elizabeth S. Rodgers on May 5, 1947 in Cumberland, Md.. She preceded him in death on October 21, 1993. Survived by one daughter: Sandra D. Reighard of Altoona, two sons: Ronald L. Adams and wife Eileen, of Altoona and Terry L. Adams and wife Jody of Bellwood; five grandchildren; Nicholas Adams, Miranda Adams, Joshua Noel, Zachary Noel and Sierra Reighard. He was preceded in death by his eleven brothers and sisters. . Retired as a supervisor from the Altoona Post Office after 30 years of service in Jan. 1986 He served during World War II in the Army as a Private First Class Graduate of Altoona High School class of 1947 and the Zeth Business School, 1949. He was a former member of the Fourth Lutheran Church.. Mr. Adams was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday December 15, 2009 at the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc. 1204 - 17th Street. Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the funeral Home By Pastor Dick Barr. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Burial Park, Altoona.
