BETTY JANE DOUGHERTY

Betty Jane Dougherty, 91, of New Enterprise, formerly of Red Hill, passed away peacefully at her residence Saturday morning. Betty was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Hazel M. (Peters) Fleegle. On April 18, 1953, she married John Joseph Dougherty in Altoona. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2012. 

She was also preceded in death by brothers: Clair O., and Harold Jr.; and sisters: Ruth Wilt and Elsie Costello.

Surviving are two daughters: Colleen J. (Scott) Thompson of Altoona, and Susan (Rock) Crawford, with whom she resided; two sons: Jeffery J. (Patricia) of Pittsburgh, and Greg (Guy) of Conneaut Lake; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Betty was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1947, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Altoona.

She was a machine operator, employed by Saf-T-Bak Inc.

Due to the COVID-19 regulations, the viewing and service will be private. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Manns Choice.
