ELEANOR ANN ELLIS

May 6, 1934 — October 2, 2020

Eleanor Ann Ellis, 86, formerly of Juniata, passed away peacefully Friday evening at Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg.
Eleanor was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Naomi (Keller) Temple.  She married Melvin Lee Ellis on March 13, 1953 in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2016.   Eleanor is survived by three daughters: Catherine Sue Forster (Pete), Terri Riccio (Dan), Patty Vladic (Dave) and son David Ellis (Janice);  11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Tanya (Grimm) Ellis, and sister-in-law, Karen Temple.
She was also preceded in death by her son James Richard Ellis; a sister, Connie Lee and a brother, Robert Temple.
Eleanor was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Eleanor worked at Puritan Sportswear in the early 1950's before devoting her life to raising her children. In the mid 70's, she became the office manager at Mel's State Farm Insurance Agency.
Eleanor's passions included spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren - especially taking them shopping and capturing memories with her camera. She always had the house and grounds decorated and treats baked for the holidays.
A Private Viewing and a Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church by Father Ronald V. Osinski.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Eleanor's life will be held for extended family and friends in the spring of 2021.
Her committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to Garvey Manor, 1037 S. Logan Blvd. Hollidaysburg, Pa. 16648 or to Holy Rosary Catholic Church 900 N 4th Street Altoona, Pa. 16601.
