Sharon D. Bookhamer 

Jan. 4, 1944 – Sept. 15, 2021 

Sharon D. Bookhamer, 77, of Altoona, died Wednesday at her residence. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Herschel) Wilkins. 

She married James R. Bookhamer on Sept. 23, 1965, in Altoona. 

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jim; four daughters: Diane C. (Mike A.) Beck, Jamie M. (Duane K.) Brown, Sherri L. Bookhamer and Helen K. Walter; two sons: Russell T. Bookhamer and Marvin D. Bookhamer; stepsons, Jimmy R. Bookhamer and Terry L. Bookhamer; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. 

She was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School and enjoyed gardening, flowers and the camp at Raystown.  

Sharon was a homemaker and especially loved being with her family. 

She was a member of New Life Community Church. 

Friends will be received from 2 until the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, by Pastor Terry Farr. Private interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Altoona. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905; or The New Life Community Church, 621 Bell Ave., Altoona, Pa.
